Dentist Visits

It’s been a difficult week, waiting on today’s dentist appointment. I’ve had some fairly severe tooth pain underneath a permanent 4-tooth bridge. X-rays today showed infection on the root of the two teeth underneath the bridge. Last June the crown came off a tooth on the upper right and it was not a good time to start messing with getting it replaced–so I didn’t. Now that tooth needs to be extracted and a new bridge put in. So that’s what I’ll be doing for the foreseeable future — building bridges — in my mouth!

I’ve shipped the Butterfly Quilt and have started cutting fabric for a Block of the Month project with my quilting friend, Bellezza. We’ve signed up with an online Block of the Month site and the instructor will be putting the blocks into a book. When asked how many quilt designs the blocks would cover, her answer was 100+/-. Whoa… LOL that’s a lot of fabric! I’m going to be making 12″ blocks again — just like last year, but these are going to be quite unique in design. We have the first two patterns, and I know that I’m going to make my quilt a queen-size, with a Southwestern theme for the bed in our place in Arizona. It should prove to be an interesting time. Since I don’t know what each pattern or block is going to be, it’s going to be a kind of “Mystery Quilt” until the very end. Should be fun!

Things could have been worse at the dentist’s office. I’m very relieved now that the initial visit is behind me. I know I’m in for a long process — probably three to five months minimum for treatment. But in the end, I should be good to go for the rest of my life.

Be safe, be well, and please be happy. Be sure to tell those you love that you love them. Life is always shorter than we think it’s going to be.

About tehachap

The easiest way to define myself is as a very happily married woman with two sons and two grandsons. My hobbies include reading, writing, sewing, trains (watching, photographing and running them in G scale), and travel. My husband and I are retired and we spend our winters in Arizona. I used to own a secretarial and desktop publishing business, but closed it when my husband retired in 1999. We have truly enjoyed our retirement years, and have fulfilled one of our primary goals in life and that is to own a home overlooking train tracks so we can watch trains 24/7. We are sincerely blessed in this life.
