I’ve written non-fiction short stories off and on since the early 80’s. I attended a Community College writing class in the 90’s at the urging of my aunt. The first day I met Mage Gunthorpe Bailey, a prolific writer friend who also quilts and is an avid reader. Mage and I became fast friends and we’ve kept the friendship going for these many years. She urged me to start a diary at an online diary site called OpenDiary.com, and so I did. I met many more writer friends, some of whom are sadly no longer with us. Open Diary is also no longer with us, but Mage and I have persevered and we continue to write. Mage is far more prolific and regular than myself, but the urge does hit me now and then and I manage to crank out a couple of paragraphs and a chuckle or two.
Over the years, I watched Mage participate in monthly journal writing marathons and considered participating, but I never got up the courage. Today, Mage has posted her Day 1 entry for the November 2015 NOJOMO (November Journal Month), and suddenly, here I was, and I was ready!
I want to write and I want to write every single day for the whole month! I can do this! Now to put my fingers to the keyboard and actually do it. I’ve even coaxed another friend to write with me. Whoo hoo! If you like to write, won’t you join us? It’s sure to be fun.
It’ll be interesting, to say the least.
Be safe, be well, and please be happy. See you here tomorrow!
