Work on my grandson’s quilt is my #1 goal for the day, except for the wall hanging I’m putting together for our Christmas decoration. We’re not going to be here long enough to warrant the trouble of putting up a tree, so when I came across this panel, I decided to quickly put it together with some borders and turn it into a wall hanging. It’s looking really nice and will hang from our mantle for the Christmas holiday.
I’ve added the yellow and blue borders to the panel, laid out the backing (leftover fabric from the grandson’s quilt backing) and batting and am ready to pin it and quilt it. The quilting is just going to be stitch in the ditch around each of the blocks, and perhaps a decorative meandering along the blue border. We shall see what it looks like once the blocks are done.
Busy day today so this entry will be very short — I did decide to change the batting for the grandson’s quilt and took a road trip yesterday to return to JoAnn’s in Lancaster to buy a full size package of Warm & White. It’s thicker than the lo-loft polyester batting and I think will make a warmer quilt. San Diego does get cold in the winter, so I know this quilt will come in handy.
Be safe, be well, and please be happy. Be sure to tell those you love that you love them.
