12 Days of Christmas — Day 3

What can I say other than I am blessed! This morning’s gift is something I’ve needed and wanted for some time. I could have made it/them myself but just never got around to it. I’ve been using a plastic grocery bag taped to the edge of my counter to collect the threads and bits from my sewing. In the living room, when I’m sitting on the couch sewing binding or ripping seams, I just pile the threads on the end table. Typically, some of the threads go missing onto the floor, then are picked up by my feet as I move back and forth to the sewing machine. But today’s gift changes all of that. And I received a new seam ripper to go with my two thread catcher bags! I just love it!!! I have a very talented and generous Santa Sister named Lana Strong!

My husband has two appointments today–an MRI of his brain and a Doppler ultra-sound of his Carotid artery, trying to find out if he has a blockage of some sort that would cause the TIA’s (mini-strokes) he’s been experiencing. I’m probably more worried than he is. Although I want the cause discovered, I worry that they will find something in these tests. He’ll undergo two more days of tests this week and we won’t know the results until January 21st, when we return to see the neurologist.

We’ll have to drive down the mountain to Bakersfield for the test, and we had snow last night. It’s beautiful, but cold, cold, cold.

Be safe, be well, and please be happy. Look for the blessings in your life and be grateful for what you have — and what you don’t have. Be sure to tell those you love that you love them.
