What a gorgeous day this is, with the sun shining on the snow on top of the mountains across the way. I know we’re in for more rain in the coming days, and although I really don’t care for the cold, I hope the temperature drops sufficiently for the rain to become snow. It really is beautiful to watch as it blankets everything in white.

I have gone back and edited the title of my posts for this week to reflect the beginning of the National Journal Writing Month. I participated in this writing challenge back in November and found it not only easy to do, but enjoyable. Thus begins my second month of NAJOWRIMO.

Killer Mike Hip Hop Artist

Last night we happened to catch The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. He had Killer Mike, a Hip Hop artist as his guest. I was totally surprised at the message Mike put out about racial equality. He says that Bernie Sanders is the nation’s chance to save this country and for people to begin living as equals. I didn’t know who he was, but I found myself raising both thumbs up in absolute agreement with everything he said. This morning, I find an article about his Late Show talk on the Internet so I know I’m not alone in thinking his words were important to our country’s survival. Follow the link below to read what Killer Mike has to say about Bernie Sanders and living life in this country as a black man. This election is our opportunity to change the direction our country is taking. It’s past time for Americans to stand up and be counted and let those who have been controlling our nation behind the scenes know that we won’t stand for it any longer.

I fervently pray that I am not alone in my thinking and that we will see a positive change in our nation come November. Obama has done wonders considering everything that he’s had to fight against with politicians blocking his efforts. But Bernie Sanders is the man we need to further Obama’s efforts.

I’m off my soapbox now. Be safe, be well, and please be happy. Be sure to tell those you love that you love them. For all of its problems, life is still a beautiful thing.

About tehachap

The easiest way to define myself is as a very happily married woman with two sons and two grandsons. My hobbies include reading, writing, sewing, trains (watching, photographing and running them in G scale), and travel. My husband and I are retired and we spend our winters in Arizona. I used to own a secretarial and desktop publishing business, but closed it when my husband retired in 1999. We have truly enjoyed our retirement years, and have fulfilled one of our primary goals in life and that is to own a home overlooking train tracks so we can watch trains 24/7. We are sincerely blessed in this life.
