Another cookie baking day — Lemon Bars today!! I love them, but as easy as they are to make, they’re harder than the dickens to get out of the pan. I think next time I’ll use shortening and flour to prepare the pan and see if it makes a difference.

This is a photo of an orange Bottle Brush tree that’s growing here in the park. I’ve only seen Bottle Brush trees in red or pink, never orange. Really cool looking with its vibrant pom-poms of color.

Not much going on today — neighbors are having a barbecue later on today and we’re bringing a chip & dip dish. My cookies are all set for tonight in the the card room, so I can relax and have a good time.

There’s a large number of people who have been diagnosed with pneumonia–more than I’ve ever seen at one time. I’ve been sneezing night and day, and have resorted to taking an allergy tablet every day to try to get things under control.

Our weather is in the high 70’s to low 80’s — very nice.

No other news so I’ll close with wishes for health, safety and happiness. Be sure to tell those you love that you love them.

About tehachap

The easiest way to define myself is as a very happily married woman with two sons and two grandsons. My hobbies include reading, writing, sewing, trains (watching, photographing and running them in G scale), and travel. My husband and I are retired and we spend our winters in Arizona. I used to own a secretarial and desktop publishing business, but closed it when my husband retired in 1999. We have truly enjoyed our retirement years, and have fulfilled one of our primary goals in life and that is to own a home overlooking train tracks so we can watch trains 24/7. We are sincerely blessed in this life.
