It’s starting out as a truly gorgeous day today. The wildflowers are in bloom in the valley for the first time in I don’t know how long.IMG_3876

The yellow on the hillside next to the tracks just glowed this morning.

And across the way, on the other wall of the valley the purple Lupines were a carpet of lavender. Awesome… I do love my home and my view.

I have more unpacking to do today, and with the Volunteer Appreciation dinner being held tonight at the Tehachapi Railroad Depot Museum, I really need to unpack everything and find my black pants. We’ve not attended these appreciation dinners very often in the past. We love to volunteer but feel a tad embarrassed when our efforts are celebrated. We’re like most other volunteers–we don’t do it for the praise or perks (free dinners), we do it because we believe in the organization we represent, and volunteering makes us feel good and keeps us active, which keeps us healthy.

May today be filled with health, wealth and gratitude. Be safe, and remind those you love that you love them. Unconditional love is a wonderful thing.

About tehachap

The easiest way to define myself is as a very happily married woman with two sons and two grandsons. My hobbies include reading, writing, sewing, trains (watching, photographing and running them in G scale), and travel. My husband and I are retired and we spend our winters in Arizona. I used to own a secretarial and desktop publishing business, but closed it when my husband retired in 1999. We have truly enjoyed our retirement years, and have fulfilled one of our primary goals in life and that is to own a home overlooking train tracks so we can watch trains 24/7. We are sincerely blessed in this life.
