Sunday, May 8, 2016 — Happy Mother’s Day!

No photo today — once more, the clouds are down below the tops of the mountains, and it looks cold and damp outdoors. We’re going to hunker down this morning but later on, hopefully the sun will break through and we’ll take off for a trip down the mountain to Bakersfield. A friend has taken up space in the old Woolworth 5 & 10 there in Bakersfield and is selling his 40 year old collection of ‘stuff.’ Makes me want to do the same thing and pare down even more of my stuff.

Enjoy your day, no matter how you spend it. Be safe, be well, and please be happy. Be sure to tell those you love that you love them.

About tehachap

The easiest way to define myself is as a very happily married woman with two sons and two grandsons. My hobbies include reading, writing, sewing, trains (watching, photographing and running them in G scale), and travel. My husband and I are retired and we spend our winters in Arizona. I used to own a secretarial and desktop publishing business, but closed it when my husband retired in 1999. We have truly enjoyed our retirement years, and have fulfilled one of our primary goals in life and that is to own a home overlooking train tracks so we can watch trains 24/7. We are sincerely blessed in this life.

I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day. Mine was pretty quiet, but very pleasant nonetheless.

I had a great day — saw two sets of friends which was unexpected, but very nice. One couple we ran into on our way to Bakersfield to the antique mall and the other couple was AT the mall and it was the friend who had posted that he had a consignment space there in the Antique Mall in Bakersfield. I was looking for Robert and saw P.P. walking towards me. His fiance was there too and they’d just spoke with Robert! A very welcome, serendipitous event.
