DAY 6 NAJOWRIMO October 6, 2016

img_4315img_4314I managed to get some of my tasks completed yesterday, but am still working on the pillows.

Yesterday afternoon I heard the familiar screech of a hawk. Robert called out to me to look out the window at the tree in the back yard. There, sitting on the highest branch sat a beautiful hawk. That roost is where the Ravens typically like to sit, and I wondered if the hawk was aware that he/she was usurping the Raven’s pet sitting spot. Ah well…

We haven’t seen him/her today — perhaps he/she found something a better place to roost this morning.

I went to pick up Rober’s eye drop refills and was dismayed to see Christmas trees set up for sale. I mean, really???? I overheard a gentleman chatting with another woman customer, saying, “No. I don’t want a Christmas tree! It’s not even Halloween yet!!” I could tell they were discussing the very thing that was on my mind — these stores keep rushing Christmas and they’ll keep rushing it until someone does something to stop it. Our Holidays are going to be all jumbled together, and we won’t be able to have any kind of a break between them.  Nothing worse in my book…..

I’m off my soapbox … be safe, be well, and please be happy. Be sure to tell those you love that you love them.

About tehachap

The easiest way to define myself is as a very happily married woman with two sons and two grandsons. My hobbies include reading, writing, sewing, trains (watching, photographing and running them in G scale), and travel. My husband and I are retired and we spend our winters in Arizona. I used to own a secretarial and desktop publishing business, but closed it when my husband retired in 1999. We have truly enjoyed our retirement years, and have fulfilled one of our primary goals in life and that is to own a home overlooking train tracks so we can watch trains 24/7. We are sincerely blessed in this life.
