This week has been one tough decision making week when it comes to food. We were in Bakersfield on Tuesday so I treated Robert to a Red Lobster lunch. Ahhhh, those cheese garlic biscuits; had two of them. Okay, not too horrible, and I opted for salad with my lunch–dressing on the side–and my whole lunch was only 330 calories. Not bad. Today, we got invited to the only (and best) steak house here in town and I had the Asian Chicken salad with garlic bread, three cups of coffee (give or take) and two slices of their extremely fresh wheat bread with butter. Oh, and a prime rib soup that was to die for. And birthday cake at the end. I haven’t marked my food diary yet, but will endeavor to be honest when estimating the calories consumed.

We’re headed back down to Bakersfield again tomorrow and will no doubt decide to have lunch before we head back up the mountain. Such a time… and here I thought Christmas was bad with all of the candy and sweets floating around the house. It seems to be an ongoing thing here. I must remember to be judicious in my selections!

Be safe, be well, and please be happy. Be sure to tell those you love that you love them. Life will continue to flow by you, no matter whether you’re ready for it or not, so try to find some enjoyment in every day.

About tehachap

The easiest way to define myself is as a very happily married woman with two sons and two grandsons. My hobbies include reading, writing, sewing, trains (watching, photographing and running them in G scale), and travel. My husband and I are retired and we spend our winters in Arizona. I used to own a secretarial and desktop publishing business, but closed it when my husband retired in 1999. We have truly enjoyed our retirement years, and have fulfilled one of our primary goals in life and that is to own a home overlooking train tracks so we can watch trains 24/7. We are sincerely blessed in this life.
