When the fog rolls in, it comes in thick…

The photo of the temperature gauge looks like I’ve left a big space between the photos, but it’s just the fog you’re seeing beyond the railing. These two photos were taken about 9:00 a.m. The last photo was taken just a bit ago, at 2:15 p.m. The two trains that were in the top photo are still there, but you can’t see them. They’re doing track work down by the Loop — the curve gang has been working on all of the curved sections. They worked on the track below the house a couple of days ago. They move the crews in on buses and the equipment is stored in a siding just at the edge of the hill (where the track curves around to the left to go around the hillside across the valley from us). I can hear a train coming down, but don’t know where he’s going to go (unless they’ve managed to move one of the two trains that had been sitting idle down below).

About tehachap

The easiest way to define myself is as a very happily married woman with two sons and two grandsons. My hobbies include reading, writing, sewing, trains (watching, photographing and running them in G scale), and travel. My husband and I are retired and we spend our winters in Arizona. I used to own a secretarial and desktop publishing business, but closed it when my husband retired in 1999. We have truly enjoyed our retirement years, and have fulfilled one of our primary goals in life and that is to own a home overlooking train tracks so we can watch trains 24/7. We are sincerely blessed in this life.
