Progress is being made on the railroad–we have the first tunnel laid in place and track leading from the house out onto the layout.

You can just see the first chimney liner there at the corner of the layout. Track will go on top of the tunnel, down the south side of the layout, make a horseshoe turn at the end, and head back through the #1 tunnel before moving around the western end of the layout and back down the north side of the railroad. Should be fun to get the last bit of rail set in place and hear the trains running once more.

The tunnel curves to the left, to go around the corner of the layout. You won’t see the gaps between the blocks once they are mortared in place. And too, there will be black paint on the inside of the chimney flue liners, to simulate a length longer than it is naturally.

It’s going to be good…

Not much else going on right now. My niece and I have been working on our family Tree genealogy. It’s going pretty well.

Be safe, be well, and please be happy. Be sure to tell those you love that you love them. Be content, be grateful, be kind to others.

About tehachap

The easiest way to define myself is as a very happily married woman with two sons and two grandsons. My hobbies include reading, writing, sewing, trains (watching, photographing and running them in G scale), and travel. My husband and I are retired and we spend our winters in Arizona. I used to own a secretarial and desktop publishing business, but closed it when my husband retired in 1999. We have truly enjoyed our retirement years, and have fulfilled one of our primary goals in life and that is to own a home overlooking train tracks so we can watch trains 24/7. We are sincerely blessed in this life.
