We’ve talked about having a 3-rail fence around the perimeter of the block wall and we’re finally getting it installed. It’ll have 2″x4″ welded wire screen attached to the posts to keep animals out. We’re hoping it will discourage the squirrels from coming in and burrowing in the layout and surrounding area.

With metal gates at either side of the back yard, we’ll be able to let Sheba have the run of the back yard when she accompanies the younger son and his family for visits. This was one of our primary reasons for having the fence installed, other than safety for anyone who is walking around the outer edge of the garden railroad. We don’t want people falling off the wall and getting hurt.

The tunnel has a single stretch of track affixed to a tapered redwood 2″x4″ and will be cemented to the inside of the tunnel. Here you see it sitting on top of the tunnel.

Be safe, be well, and please be happy. Take each day as it comes, without worrying about tomorrow. Tomorrow will come and be dealt with as it evolves. Know that you are loved and you are not alone in this lifetime. There are those who love you and who need your presence here.

About tehachap

The easiest way to define myself is as a very happily married woman with two sons and two grandsons. My hobbies include reading, writing, sewing, trains (watching, photographing and running them in G scale), and travel. My husband and I are retired and we spend our winters in Arizona. I used to own a secretarial and desktop publishing business, but closed it when my husband retired in 1999. We have truly enjoyed our retirement years, and have fulfilled one of our primary goals in life and that is to own a home overlooking train tracks so we can watch trains 24/7. We are sincerely blessed in this life.
