We fully intended to take a day trip up to Laws, California, to see the Slim Princess run.

I set the alarm clock for 6 o’clock (it’s a 3 hr. drive from Tehachapi) and we went to bed fairly early. When the alarm went off this morning, it was an easy decision to skip the drive and stay home. I realized that Robert would be need to be rested come Monday morning and we have Docent Duty at the Tehachapi Depot Railroad Museum tomorrow, which usually leaves us a bit tired at the end of the day. I really hadn’t thought it through before agreeing to the trip. Robert gratefully returned to bed and right back to sleep.

He thanked me this morning for canceling out on the trip. I don’t think he relished driving for three hours first thing this morning. He said he was leaving it up to me but he was glad I made the decision I did. Laws will be still be there, and we’ll make the trip another time.

Meanwhile, we have the day to rest up. Be safe, be well, and please be happy. Enjoy your life, and remember that we are all blessed. Be sure to tell those you love that you love them.

About tehachap

The easiest way to define myself is as a very happily married woman with two sons, a daughter-in-law, and two grandsons. My hobbies include creating art with fabric (quilting and sewing) and paper (cardmaking), reading, writing, trains (watching, photographing and running them in our G scale garden railroad), travel and volunteering. I owned a secretarial and desktop publishing business years ago and was a professional proofreader. I closed my business in 1999 when my husband retired, but I continue to enjoy proofreading and editing for e-authors. We have truly enjoyed our retirement years, and have fulfilled one of our primary goals in life and that is to own a home overlooking train tracks so we can watch trains 24/7. We are sincerely blessed in this life.

I’ve finished the center of the crow quilt, and I added several snippets of the fabrics you just sent. Thank you again.

Glad you could use them. I am finally at the binding part of the Depot quilt. Then I have two matching throw pillows to sew and I’ll be able to turn them into the Depot so they can be sold. So glad to be at the end of this quilt — I’ve looked at it for so long it’s beginning to bore me! LOL
