Not much to add except I’m at the end of day 2 of flu-like symptoms. Thought it was a major fibromyalgia flare at first, but then I began sneezing and coughing from nasal drainage down the back of my throat. Chills, aches and pain. Extra-strength Acetaminophen helps with the pain, but when it wears off, the pain is right back, strong as ever.

Looked online for flu symptoms and I have enough of the ones listed that I’m sure that’s what’s going on. I read that the immune response to viruses is what causes the pain. Did not know that, but it seems logical. It’s your body trying to kill off those bad cells that don’t belong in your body. Makes me wonder what triggers my immune system to attack my body when I don’t have the flu, like in osteoarthritis or fibromyalgia. Hope some scientist figures it out one day so we can end these painful auto-immune diseases.

Be safe — wash your hands — disinfect the surfaces in your car — come to find out, the flu virus can live for 1-2 days before dying. Gads… trying to remember where I was 3-4 days ago.

About tehachap

The easiest way to define myself is as a very happily married woman with two sons and two grandsons. My hobbies include reading, writing, sewing, trains (watching, photographing and running them in G scale), and travel. My husband and I are retired and we spend our winters in Arizona. I used to own a secretarial and desktop publishing business, but closed it when my husband retired in 1999. We have truly enjoyed our retirement years, and have fulfilled one of our primary goals in life and that is to own a home overlooking train tracks so we can watch trains 24/7. We are sincerely blessed in this life.

I hope you will be feeling much better soon. Good advice to disinfect as much of your surroundings as possible.

So sorry you both are suffering. Did you get your shots? They have extra strong ones for us old folks. I had a runny nose only a week. G got the ordinary shot and was miserable for three weeks.
You inspired us. Sunday after lunch, we followed the new track and it was fascinating to see how they are building it and where it is going. Hugs to you both.

I was at the dr’s for 3 hrs. on Friday — mixup in communication. When I told the dr. I had been sick with the flu for 4 days, he told me I was too far into the illness and the shot wouldn’t help me all that much. Plus, they’re out of the medication. :/ Unreal… He asked me to return in a week so they could check my blood pressure, which was a bit on the high side. I had been taking that EmergenC drink and I think it drove my bp up. We shall see…

Well, we’re here, if not more than a bit rough around the edges still. I’m going to have to write a post … Hugs at arms length — love you and G!
