Once again, I’m up in the wee hours of the morning — it’s just early morning now, but then I’ve been up for about 3 hours already. If I go to bed too early, I wind up getting up very early.

So here I am and I’ve come across one of those survey things that begs to be worked. I got it from my friend, Mage, who writes at http://urban-archology.blogspot.com/  Here goes:

1997 CALLED AND IT WANTS ITS SCREAMING DOMICILE SURVEY

DO YOU LIVE IN A HOUSE OR AN APARTMENT?
House
WOULD YOU SAY IT IS BIG OR SMALL?

DO YOU HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE THAT YOU PUT YOUR KEYS?
Purse.
IS YOUR REFRIGERATOR STOCKED WITH ANYTHING?
Always — most anything and everything in the refrigerator (fruit, veggies, meats, cheeses, condiments, milk and salsa). In the freezer, I always have a ham hock, breakfast meats, and bananas for making banana bread. Also, there is always ice cream of some sort.
WHERE DO YOU KEEP YOUR BREAD?
On the counter.
IS YOUR BATHROOM CLEAN?
Two and a half baths and yes, they’re all clean because we finally have a housekeeper.
WHAT IS YOUR BATHROOM’S THEME?
Upstairs — hummingbird plaques and a picture of a potted geranium, downstairs burgundy and white — antique photo of a woman posing by a bathtub.
HOW MANY RUGS DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR DWELLING SPACE?
1 — Large Southwestern one in the living room
1 — Large Southwestern rug in the downstairs living room
3 — In the kitchen (one in front of sink, stove and refrigerator)
2 — Two in the main bath upstairs
2 — Two in the full bath downstairs

1 — Large Oriental rug in the dining room

6 — Scatter rugs in downstairs bedrooms (two by each bed and one by each doorway)
6 — Entryway rugs upstairs (one by each entrance door)
Yes, I trip on most all of them.
DO YOU KNOW YOUR NEIGHBORS?
Yes, except for one home — and the new people up on the corner, but in this cul-de-sac we do know everyone.
ARE THERE ANY STRAY CATS AROUND?
No — the neighbor nextdoor has two dogs and one beautiful indoor cat.
DO YOU HAVE A DVD PLAYER IN YOUR BEDROOM?
No.
WHICH ROOM WOULD YOU SAY YOU SPEND THE MOST TIME IN?
The office/computer room. (because that’s also where my sewing machines and fabrics are)
DO YOU HAVE A POOL OR JACUZZI WHERE YOU LIVE?
No.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DVD THAT YOU OWN?
Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? Paul, or Blazing Saddles
HOW ABOUT YOUR FAVORITE CD THAT YOU OWN?

Intercom music, Pandora on Smart TV, or music on my computer.
DO YOU HAVE A COFFEE MAKER?
We have a Keurig, and as a back up, a Mr. Coffee that takes forever to brew.
DO YOU HAVE AN AREA DESIGNATED FOR ALCOHOL?
LOL — yeah, my pantry — We don’t drink. My father passed away in 1992 and I inherited his booze supply. I still have 90% of it. LOL
HOW MANY TELEVISIONS DO YOU HAVE?
Two…one 48″ Samsung Smart TV in the living room upstairs and an ancient 27″ t.v. downstairs that never gets used.
DO YOU HAVE STAIRS?
Yep — one set.
WHAT KIND OF STUFF DO YOU HAVE ON YOUR WALLS?
A wall of family photos by the stairway, painting of tulips in entryway, several bookcases, a mirror in the living room and downstairs numerous train photos.
WHERE DO YOU KEEP YOUR TOOTHPASTE?
Counter or drawer.
DO YOU HAVE A DEN OR AN OFFICE?
Office.  One desktops, two sewing machines and a serger.

Not really — the nearest grocery store is 5 miles away. We only have one general merchandise store — a KMart.
DO YOU HAVE A WALK IN CLOSET AND IF NOT WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE ONE?
Yes, it’s narrow but long, and I am forever running into the linen shelves on the right, but it’s all we have.
DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING HANGING FROM THE CEILING?
Fans with lights or chandelier over the dining room table. In my office I have humming bird windchime and a series of small black pots sculpture from Equador.
DOES YOUR KITCHEN HAVE A THEME?
No.
IS IT A PAIN TO DUST YOUR LIVING SPACE?
I don’t dust it, my housekeeper does.
WHAT’S UNDER YOUR BED?
Nothing.  LOL
DO YOU HAVE A GAME SYSTEM?
No. I do desktop games. (Spider Solitaire, Aloha Solitaire, Sherlock, Mahjong)
HOW MANY TELEPHONES ARE IN YOUR HOME?
Four landline telephones — three upstairs and one downstairs, and two cell phones. When the power or my computer goes out, the landline phones are useless because they’re connected to the computer. Then we use our cell phones.
DO YOU HAVE A FIREPLACE AND IF SO DO YOU USE IT OFTEN?
Yes, natural gas, and yes, almost every day in the evening–cheaper to run it for a bit to warm the living room than to run the forced air unit.
WHAT KIND OF MICROWAVE DO YOU HAVE?
Built in to the oven unit. Praying that it doesn’t die as I don’t know if we could replace it without replacing the whole oven and microwave.
DO YOU HAVE ANY FIGURINES OF ANGELS AROUND?
No
DO YOU LIKE TO OPEN THE BLINDS OR CURTAINS OR KEEP THEM SHUT?
Most shutters and blinds are open all the time. Blinds in the office are closed at night. No window coverings on any of the sliding glass doors (we have six sets–three upstairs and three downtairs)
HOW MANY COMPUTERS ARE IN YOUR DWELLING SPACE?
Two.  One desktop and one laptop.
WHAT COMPANY DO YOU USE FOR INTERNET ACCESS AND HOW MUCH DOES IT Cost.
Brighthouse — Spectrum. Internet and telephone — $65 a month.
DO YOU HAVE A GARAGE?
We have two garages — a two car garage (his) and a single car garage (mine).
I think that about covers it for now … have a good day. Be safe, be well (please) and be happy. Be grateful for everything you have, especially the ability to breathe… And don’t forget to tell those you love that you love them.

About tehachap

The easiest way to define myself is as a very happily married woman with two sons and two grandsons. My hobbies include reading, writing, sewing, trains (watching, photographing and running them in G scale), and travel. My husband and I are retired and we spend our winters in Arizona. I used to own a secretarial and desktop publishing business, but closed it when my husband retired in 1999. We have truly enjoyed our retirement years, and have fulfilled one of our primary goals in life and that is to own a home overlooking train tracks so we can watch trains 24/7. We are sincerely blessed in this life.

Robert is much improved — only a slight cough left and we have a referral coming for a Nephrologist so we can get his kidney checked out. The Nephrologist is the same one that came to see Robert when he was in the hospital having his kidney removed. This is a good sign for us as we know this dr. and like him.
