View From My Window

Tuesday, September 28, 2021 — What a day today has been. I’ve been on the phone off and on all day, and if I wasn’t on the phone, I was at the computer. For a number of reasons, going through the process of executing a refinance of our mortgage has been one giant headache. Hopefully, it’s complete and I can begin to relax and just wait out the rest of the time until escrow closes. I gave some serious thought to whether or not I should refinance, considering that we’re going to be selling, but the half-a percent discount in interest and the fact that the loan can be assumed by the new buyer made it a no brainer of a deal.

The day started out cold and foggy, but right now the sun has broken through just in time to set! LOL

There’s Ruby, poised on the railing outside my office window. She alternates between grooming herself, looking in the window at me and laying out flat on the railing and half-way snoozing. She’s fallen off the railing in the past, but landed with all four feet down on the ground. She bounded back up the stairs like nothing had happened while we tried to swallow our hearts which had got stuck in our throat.

I have to laugh at her — she sits there and gives me this unblinking, evil eye stare, basically ordering me to come out and groom her, and give her some cat love. LOL She’ll take it for a couple of minutes and then she’ll jump down and head for her food dish. <sigh> She’s a pest at times and can be very determined when trying to get my attention.

I will share one political cartoon with you before I end this post. It says all that needs to be said about the vaccination saga.

Be safe, be well, and please take care. Be sure to tell those you love that you love them. Our COVID statistics continue to rise–most recently, Kern County had 8 new deaths and 900+ infections. Nothing to be proud of, nothing at all.

About tehachap

Happily married and retired, my hobbies are quilting, reading and anything to do with trains (watching, photographing and running them in our G scale garden railroad). My husband and I have truly enjoyed our retirement, and have fulfilled one of our primary goals in life and that is to own a home overlooking train tracks so we can watch trains 24/7. We are sincerely blessed in this life.

Our nephew will be retiring this Friday (10/1) and our niece has said she’s going to be giving him a retirement party and would we come if we were invited. I said, Sure. Robert doesn’t want to go, but I told him I wanted to see you and George, so he relented. No date/time yet, but I’m giving you a heads up!!

Ruby is such a lovely girl.
Did you buy the unit your heart desired? I think I missed something.

No… we’ve decided to hold to our original plan — a 3/2 with a garage. One of our friends there owns a 3/2 with a garage and says they’re talking about selling and moving to Utah. One way or another, we’ll find the place we need. Hugs…
